Jem, Scout, and Dill sat in the African American balcony. I think that they sat there because they supported Tom Robinson, and I think that they thought the townspeople were crazy for thinking that Tom could have done what he was on trial for. So to make the townspeopla angry that they were sitting there, or to show that they support Tom Robinson, they sat there to make a statement.
Ellie...I totally agree with you. I think that the children sat in the balcony to prove a point also. I also think that they wanted everyone to know that they were on Tom's side and that they believed he was not guilty. Great observation Ellie!
