Ch. 29- Atticus suggested that he, Mr. Tate, Boo, and Scout sit outside on the porch instead of in the living room because in the living room, the lights were very bright, while outside on the porch, the lights were not as strong. Atticus wanted to go where the lights were less bright because he knew that the bright lights might hurt Boo’s eyes since he has stayed inside the house all his life. Atticus knew that Boo’s eyes probably weren’t adjusted for the bright, strong lights in the living room.

Abbey,
Your response is very interesting and it also makes a lot of sense! Boo probably would have had a hard time adjusting to the bright lights of the Finch home. I also think that Atticus might have asked them to sit on the porch so that some of the attention was taken off of Boo. It seemed like he was very much on display while in Jem's room. I agree that Atticus was trying to make Boo more comfortable.

In chapter 29 Aticus suggested that Boo, Mr. Tate, and Scout all sit on the porch instead of the living room because in the living room the lights are very bright while on the porch they aren't. Atticus knew it would probably be better for Boo to be in dim light since it might hurt his eyes. (because he lived inside his house so many years) Atticus knew that his eyes probably weren't adjusted to the bright lights of the room. Atticus was tring to make Boo more comfortable.

Abbey and Mia--I agree with both of your statements. I feel that what Atticus did was another display of his thoughtfulness towards other people's feelings.
